An ambitious work on the Spanish fencing tradition by Puck and Mary Curtis
The website with several translations and transcriptions can be found here: www.destreza.us/index.html
A video series where Puck and Mary teach some Destreza can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch
From the Destreza website:
"During the 1500s a new system of swordplay began to develop in Europe unlike any the world had ever seen. The Spanish created a new, universal method of fighting based on Reason and Mathematics that could be taught to any student. They called the system La Verdadera Destreza, the True Art.

Hurry up to register for one of the biggest HEMA events worldwide!
Visit:www.ghfs.se/swordfish
Registration is on a first come first serve basis, you have to register AND pay in order to reserve a place in the classes you wish to attend. It is of course perfectly possible to come to Swordfish and just spar and socialize, without attending classes.
October 30 (Friday) until November 1st (Sunday), that is over Halloween,
as always the Aktiviteten building will be open starting Thursday afternoon, so you can get settled, start greeting your friends, beat them up and get drunk together as soon as possible.
Right now we are looking at a fee around 90 Euro for the whole event, and 45 Euro for a day pass (910 SEK and 450 SEK, respectively), a slight increase from last year due to our falling currency increasing our costs, the price includes a place to sleep (no beds though so bring your sleeping bag), cheap prices in our own HEMA pub and breakfast.
List of scheduled instructors and lecturers (open for change):
Anders Linnard, GHFS, longsword coached sparring
Roland Warzecha and Tobias "Toke" Wenzel, Hammaborg (Germany), sword and buckler (2 classes)
Scott Brown, Schwert am Schwert (US), 1.33 drills, longsword winden drills
Dierk Hagedorn, Hammaborg (Germany), longsword techniques from the Peter Falkner manuscript
Matt Galas, Spanish longsword, cutting drills for longsword
Luis Preto- Jogo do Pao, baton, lecture on martial arts pedagogics

"GHFS is a renowned organization in the historical martial art community. They have taken a foremost position in the analysis and interpretation of medieval German fencing manuals. They have participated in many leading pan-European events and have created and maintained link with several organization across Europe. Having meet the students and teachers on several occasions, either in other countries or in Gothenburg, i have always been impressed by the martial quality of their research as well as the pedagogy of their approach."
