Swordfish is the first annual event in Sweden for historical European martial arts. This year, the event will take place in Gothenburg, on the Swedish west coast. It is held 31 october- 2 November 2008 and hosted by Gothenburg Historical Fencing School, the GHFS.
Swordfish is unique in many ways. It has become known as a tough event, with intense training and a lot of different classes to attend as well as tournaments to participate in. And although that is true for many events, Swordfish hosts instructors and classes that you will not find anywhere else as well as some more well-known faces. It is uniquely Scandinavian as well as European.
The event draws fencers, boxers, wrestlers and other martial artists from around the world during a time of year when there are few other events around. It is a great opportunity to come together, meet friends and train hard.

Swordfish 2008 will, like last year, feature a lot of social events. We have lecture halls, a pub (this year we will use a larger room for this due to overwhelming attendance last year), projector announcements and a designated hall for free sparring. Everything is gathered in the same facilities and you will not have to travel around to go to classes or to get some sleep. Restaurants are in close proximity to the event.
So join in on the fun and come to Gothenburg for a couple of days of inspiration, hard work and camaraderie.
You won't be alone.
We give priority to "early birds", so don't hesitate, register today to be sure to get to attend all the workshops you want!
